ENGLISH EVERYWHERE

Since the very beginning of this course 2012-2013 the school, and more concretely the English department, has fully implemented English conversations during the meals’ time in 3^rd and 4^th of ESO. On the one hand, 3^rd of ESO students are taking advantage of this new opportunity to practice English during the breakfast time when a teacher meets with them in a classroom to establish some dialogue. On the other hand, 4^th of ESO students put their speaking skills in practice at lunch time. From the time when this activity started a couple of topics have been covered: first, they have been talking about summer holidays and they all share a lot of experiences; this week we are discussing about ‘Catalonia’s Independence’ because it is a current debate in our society. In this way, we want our pupils to be critic when facing current social and political conflicts to be able to give some arguments when taking a certain position when carrying out a debate. They are all devoted to improve their oral competence and as teachers, we pretend to provide them with the appropriate communicative skills.
